Lu, you are the epitome of a class act.
Lu deserves so much better than what he’s getting from the media and the bandwagoners. Whatever happens, he’ll always be the reason I started watching hockey, and I’ll always be his fan.

One thing we never done in this group is point fingers and turn on each other, I really believe that’s the big part of team success.

Never get caught trying to tell a hockey player it’s just a game. Never get caught trying to explain to him all the things in the world that matter so much more. His mind might well acknowledge the truth to your point, but his soul would be powerless to accept it. Considering the immensity of what he gives to the sport, and the immeasurably of all it offers in return. Nothing ever feels as perfect as a moment of flawlessness on the ice. No bond is strong as one that compels brothers to bleed for one another. Not many leaders will disperse in the craft of motivation. Not many pursuits can evoke such visions of brilliance. This is why it hurts so much when skill falls short of what the will desires. This is why it’s so unforgettable when absolute passion yields ultimate reward. And that’s all just the start of what the game can do to you. The stakes rise as the season continues from here. While you watch from a distance, remember what was validated up close. Hockey may very well be just a game, but it’s also who they are.

Cory has worked extremely hard since he’s been up. I think, you know, he deserves what he’s getting. Obviously he’s going to be a top-notch goalie in this league for a long time and I’m happy for him and hopefully we can get the job done … I don’t want it to be a distraction for the guys. I think the attention needs to be focused on the Canucks and Game 5 and what needs to be done to win that game. The last thing I want to be is a distraction for my teammates.

Just having Daniel fly down here to practice with us is a lift. He’s one of the best players in the league and just having him around helps. If we can win one game, there’s three more days for him to get better. We can’t do anything about the games that have been played. They’re gone, you have to forget about them and concentrate on the one in front of you.

Anonymous asked you: For some optimism right now, could you pretty please draw the Canucks hoisting the Stanley Cup? :D
Since I’m kind of pressed for time, I just drew a bunch of cats in the Cup…
I’ve been too nervous to watch. It’s been so tight. It’s nerve-wracking to not be out there and not help the team. I understand the fans now. My wife wanted to watch and I didn’t. She updated me.

He doesn’t get enough credit for how tough he is, him and Danny. They play through a lot of pain and a lot of injuries and they take a lot of hard hits and there’s evidence right there and as much as people want to call us soft and divers, he got right back out there, didn’t miss a shift. He’s as close to a Canadian as you can get for a Swede.
